       Beads or "Look Kum Pad" in Suphanburi dialect is an ancient and valuable artifact. Unlike other beads, the ancient U-Thong beads are beautiful, bright, shiny and tough. There are many kinds of materials such as stone bead, clay bead, metal bead, glass bead, and animal shell bead.
       The bead is recognized as a type of beautiful jewelry. In the ancient time, it had many meanings i.e., a symbol of amulet, ceremonial item, a valuable item used for exchange like money, and also a symbol of power. The more beads ones possessed, the more powerful they became. It is an ornament showing of the social class status, divided by rarity and the beauty of the material of which the beads are made. Many U-Thong people believe that wearing U-Thong beads will bring good luck.
