ไม้ล้มลุกลักษณะคล้ายพืชกลุ่มปาล์ม กลีบดอกมีสีเหลือง ผลแก่มีสีขาวถึงแดง ด้านขั้วป่องออก ชอบบริเวณที่มีร่มเงาและมีความชื้น เป็นที่รู้จักดีของคนเดินป่า เพราะผลสุกมีรสหวาน เมื่อดื่มน้ำตามลงไปหลังทานสุกผลจะชุ่มคอมาก หรือสามารถทานผลแก่แทนการดื่มน้ำได้ รากมีสรรพคุณทางสมุนไพร บางที่นำมาใช้เป็นยาชักมดลูก Lumbah is a herbaceous plant that resembles the palm family. The plant prefers shaded and humid environments. The palm-like plant has flowers with yellow petals and sweet white-reddish ripe fruit that is well known to trekkers as the fruit can help quench the thirst and dehydration. The lumbah’s root is used as a folk remedy for conditions such as menstrual problems.
