เหยื่อกุรัม / Gouty Balsam, Giant Balsam

เหยื่อกุรัม ไม้ล้มลุก ลำต้นอวบน้ำ ทรงสวย มีดอกสีเหลืองหรือสีชมพูสวย มักพบบริเวณเขาหินปูน ในหลายจังหวัดทางภาคใต้ ที่ถูกเรียกโดย มานิ “มานิ หรือ มานิค หรือ เซมัง” มานินำเหยื่อกุรัมออกมาขาย บ้างนำไปขายผสมผสานกับสมุนไพรตัวอื่น ๆ ในตลาดนัดเหมือนเป็นยาชุด บ้างนำออกมาขายหน้าป่าใกล้ ๆ บริเวณทับ (ที่พักของมานิ) ทั้งเป็นต้นสดหรือตากแห้ง มีสรรพคุณบำรุงร่างกาย บรรเทาอาการอ่อนเพลีย ขับปัสสาวะ แก้ไข้ดับพิษ Gouty Balsam is a herbaceous plant with succulent stem, beautiful form, and yields beautiful yellow or pink flowers. The gouty balsam is local to multiple southern Thai provinces and could often be found at limestone hills. The local Mani tribe (also known as Manik or Semang) valued both fresh and dried gouty balsam and sold them as folk medicine at local markets or Thab area (mani's residence). As a folk remedy, the gouty balsam is known for its potential effects to nourish the body, relieve fatigue, detoxification, diuretic and antipyretic properties.
