ไม้ต้นขนาดกลางถึงใหญ่ เรือนยอดเป็นพุ่ม ไม่ผลัดใบ แผ่นใบหนา ปลายใบเรียวแหลม ผิวใบเรียบเกลี้ยง สรรพคุณคือ ส่วนดอกใช้กลั่นเป็นน้ำมันหอมระเหย ดอกแห้งใช้เข้ายาหอม บำรุงหัวใจ ผลใช้ขับเหงื่อ ใบใช้รักษาแผลสด แก้พิษงู แก่นไม้ช่วยแก้เลือดออกตามไรฟัน ส่วนรากใช้ขับลมในลำไส้ เปลือกช่วยฟอกน้ำเหลือง กระจายหนอง ส่วนกระพี้แก้เสมหะในคอ Ironwood is a medium to large evergreen plant with a bushy canopy. The leaf of the ironwood is smooth and thick with slender and pointed tips. Multiple parts of the ironwood are valued by the locals. The fresh flowers are fragrant and can be distilled into essential oils. Dried flowers are commonly used as folk remedy to nourish the heart. The fruit is used to stimulate sweating whilst the leaves are used to treat fresh wounds and snake venom. The wood pulp is a folk medicine for scurvy and the root can be used as an anti-flatulent. The ironwood bark helps stimulate the immune system, reduce pus, and the sapwood has mucokinetic properties (get rid of phlegm).
